Here is a little background about me and my coaching experience

I have been coaching in Norwich since 2001 and have over 20 years of experience in helping people with their training.

Those that work with me will see a genuine passion for coaching. I continue to run a busy schedule as both an in-person and online coach, working with people of all ages, from complete beginners to premier league football players and competitive athletes.

Since 2005, I have been involved with one of the largest health clubs in the UK and have accumulated countless hours of hands on practical coaching experience. In addition to this, I have had the opportunity to train, coach and compete in the United States and Australia. It is this experience that enables me to deliver the very best guidance and coaching to you.

I am currently just one of four coaches in the UK to hold the Professional Barbell Coach (PBC) certification with Barbell Logic, one of the largest strength coaching companies in the world and leaders in barbell education. Whilst completing the PBC I have trained under the guidance and experience of Matt Reynolds, CEO and founder of Barbell Logic, and competed in Strengthlifting at the USSF 2022 Summer Classic.

You will also find me teaching technical courses for upcoming instructors at Norfolk Health & Fitness, helping to deliver higher industry standards in the field of fitness and offering support and mentoring to those just getting started in the industry.

During my time as a coach I have also worked as a referral consultant, working alongside GP's and physiotherapists, helping people to begin or return back to training safely.

As a keen martial artist, I am personally working towards a fifth degree black belt in Taekwondo and a 1st Dan in Judo, having competed and coached at international competitions and seminars.

When not in the gym, you will probably find me reading, hiking, barbecuing and spending time with my wife and two sons.

If you would like to know more or have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

“Instead of just coming to the gym and trying to get fit and lose a bit of weight - I’m actually doing it! Matt sets me realistic and achievable goals and continues to offer ongoing support with my training. I also feel much more confident when I workout alone. I feel fitter, slimmer and look forward to our workouts together. I have lost 37lbs to date”.

“After having two babies I had put on 3 stone in weight. Matt developed a training programme to improve my fitness, help me lose weight and increase my muscle tone. Each week he varied the exercises so that I did not get bored. The programme and added nutritional advice meant that the baby pounds started coming off and I now feel fantastic having lost 2 stone!”

"I have attended Matt’s sessions for over a year and I am the fittest I have ever been. Matt’s knowledge and experience has helped me achieved huge gains in my strength and overall conditioning."
